March 2010Potential Empire Network Change
Empire BlueCross BlueShield is currently in negotiations with Stellaris Health Network (SHN) for a new multiyear agreement. As of now, their existing contract is scheduled to terminate effective April 1, 2010. SHN consists of the following healthcare facilities: Lawrence Hospital, Northern Westchester Hospital, Phelps Memorial Hospital Center and White Plains Hospital.
Empire will be sending letters to your employees who may be impacted due to their address, primary care physician or prior claims history within the next week. The letters inform them of these negotiations and include an FAQ as well as a special number to call for more information.
Please click on the following link to view a list of alternate participating facilities in the event Empire’s contract with SHN is terminated.
